Thought for Today…
A godly Woman in Today’s World
Psalms 121:1-3…(1) I will lift up my eyes to the hills- From whence comes my help? (2) My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. (3) He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. (NKJV)
In this world we live in, being a woman can be, well, lets say difficult. So many expectations are placed on us. We are expected to look a certain way and if we don’t we are made to feel less than perfect. Our hairstyles are to look like the latest look, we are expected to look sickly to be desirable. The world wants us to push ourselves to be supermoms as we take care of everyone else but neglect ourselves until we are burnt out and frazzled feeling defeated because we just can’t do it all. This because the world wants to conform us into it’s image with it’s identity. But, if we are godly women, saved by the Blood of Christ, we have the identity of Christ. He does not call us to be perfect, but holy and righteous. We cannot do this in our own strength but by the power of the Holy Spirit in us. Our speech is to be gracious, our life to be God glorifying, our thoughts to be God centered and be continuously in the spirit of prayer as we seek His guidance each and everyday. We will still be multitasking because life is busy, but, we will be working in Gods strength, not our own.
If we keep Christ at the forefront of our lives, in His rightful place as our First Love, our lives will be beautiful and we will glow with the countenance of our Heavenly Father. As we lift our eyes up to the hills, we will see where our help comes. Stay strong, sisters in Christ, we are daughters of The King of kings, Jesus the Christ!
In Christ,
